Palo Verde PTA and School News

New This Week

Miss Mary Ann is Leaving Palo Verde 🙁
I’m sad to say that this coming Friday, December 19th, will be Miss Mary Ann’s last day as secretary at Palo Verde.   She is off to have new adventures in her life.
I would like to thank her for all her hard work she has put into her job over the last year and a half.  The help she has given students, parents faculty and staff has been so appreciated by everyone.  Mary Ann has made such wonderful changes to the office décor.  We have her to thank for all the organization, art and lighting changes we have seen in the office.   Perhaps she will start a career in interior design.  Whatever she decides to do in the future, we will miss her greatly and wish her all the best.

If you have a moment, please take time to stop by the office and wish Miss Mary Ann a fond farewell.

I am pleased to announce that Jenny Hsiung will be taking the secretarial position and we will be hiring a new clerk in the new year.  🙂

Have a wonderful holiday season!
Anne Brown

LOST AND FOUND CART
Please make sure to check the lost and found cart – everything left in there on Friday 12/19 at the end of school (1:15pm) will be donated to a charity such as Goodwill or trashed (in the case of lunch bags containing food etc.)
I will photograph the items in the cart on Thursday 12/18/14 and post the pictures on:
Remember, labelled clothes / items can be returned to students quickly.  It takes just a few minutes to label items clearly.  Encourage your child to keep track of their items and to check the cart regularly.
A few minutes (and reminders) can save many dollars!

Wishing you Happy Holidays and a Peaceful New Year
Your Lost and Found Coordinator
Denise White

It’s almost here! Kids, start sorting through your *age-appropriate* toys, games and DVDs that you’d like to swap. Parents, if you donate a lot of DVDs your child might bring home many small toys; you may want to set some limits. 🙂

The ticket values are the same as last year: 1 ticket per action figure or matchbox car, 2 for puzzles, 3 for board games, crafts and mid-size toys, 4 for DVDs and large toys.

There will also be hot chocolate for sale, with proceeds going to the Green Team. All leftover toys at the end of the swap will be donated to Goodwill.
