Updates and Changes to “Alice in Wonderland” Dates
“Alice in Wonderland” comes to Palo Verde this fall when the Palo Alto Children’s Theatre will work with Palo Verde 3
rd through 5th graders to produce the play “Alice in Wonderland.” We’ve had a change to the audition dates/timing, so please take a careful look.
Parents get an overview of the key dates, activities, and volunteer requirements for play participation. This will be a short meeting so that you can get the information you need quickly and get on with your day.
NEW! Auditions will be held on Tuesday, 10/11, for 3rd graders from 2:15 to 3:45. Auditions will be held on Thursday, 10/13, for 4th and 5th graders from 2:50 to 4:20. If you have a conflict, you can attend the other day. Those interested in crew jobs do not attend auditions.
The nitty gritty details of play participation and volunteer signs up are covered.
Any 3rd through 5th grade student who wants to participate will be able to participate. Each student can take on either an acting or a crew role. Question? Contact Laurence Kancherla at lvarlet@hotmail.com or Callie Turk at callie_turk@yahoo.com.

A Palo Verde PTA sponsored event!
It’s Fall Party Time!
Fall Parties is one of our bigger fundraisers at Palo Verde. The parties offers a slate of fall and winter gatherings and focus on building our community of parents, families, and children through fun activities and parties while raising money to support Palo Verde PTA Programs. Parents donate the party, and all ticket sales benefit our school.
Past offerings include hiking trips, Halloween/fall/gingerbread parties for kids, wine/dumpling/margarita parties for adults, winter holiday parties, crafty parties for kids, coffee/tea parties and so much more. This year we would also like to get donors for a simple party for each grade level – for example Kinder Halloween Playdate with Donuts at Seale Park.
Please email your donated parties to pvfallpartybook@gmail.com by 10/9 with
Event Title, Event Description, Donor Name(s), # of Guests (Minimum / Maximum), Type of Event: (Adults-Only / Kids Drop-Off / Family), Event Location, Date/Time for Event (event sales kick off 10/16), Suggested Ticket Price
Please email us if you need help coming up with a party idea or getting partners to donate with you.
We look forward to partying with you!

Seeking Fall Party Chairs
Palo Verde PTA is able to offer a variety of programs such as the upcoming Children’s Theater, Julia Robinson Science Night, Ice Skating, and International Harvest Fair because of the generous contributions and donations made by our families and the time and effort of our volunteer teams that set up and run fundraisers such as the upcoming Fall parties
However, over the last two years the PTA has been finding it hard to replace volunteers who have moved on to middle schools with newer volunteers who will take charge of and/or help run the fundraisers and donate parties that are crucial to support our enrichment, community building and academic programs. Without the funds we raise through the Fall Parties or the Spring auction, the PTA will find it increasingly harder to support a lot of our existing or new programs all of which support all of our kids.
We are looking for new energy and talent especially from the lower K-3 grades to help us try and meet our fundraising goals by chairing the upcoming Fall Parties fundraiser, NO PREVIOUS FUNDRAISING EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. We have a team in place to guide you and a software in place to run Fall Parties. The Fall parties chair/s will seek out parties from the community: eg halloween cup cake making, Moms and Margaritas, wine tasting, Eichler Tours. These parties are hosted generously by our families and proceeds from ticket sales from these parties come back to the PTA.
The fall parties chair will work with the existing team to advertise and promote the fundraiser. They will work with the auction software to create a catalog and facilitate online sales.
Since this is time sensitive, Please contact Yael Valek, yaelcow@yahoo.com or Anjani Sarma president@pvpta.org if you would like to volunteer to lead or help with Fall Parties.
