May Fete Float. We Need Leaves For the Tree On Our Float.

We are excited to start work on Palo Verde’s float entry for the May Fete parade on May 3. And would need your help! . In this week’s Friday folders, please find a color page with three maple leaf cut outs. If you could have your child, write a ‘warm fuzzy’ saying why he likes Palo Verde, or draw on or decorate the leaves, we would greatly appreciate it. We plan to use the leaf cutouts for the’ Palo Verde’ (green tree)  on the float and the more leaves we have for our tree the better. We will have a bin out in the front office for your child to deposit the leaves in. They can either cut out the leaves or not. Questions please contact anjani dot sarma at gmail dot com.
Please watch this space for when we will all assemble to put the float together in the MP room. We have had families come out the last few years and help decorate and put finishing touches to the float. Hope you can join us as well.

Bringing Up Bicyclists

How to Teach Your Child the Skills and Habits of Safe Bicyclists: A Class for Parents,  see flier HERE
El Carmelo MP Room, 3024 Bryant Street

Wednesday, April 16, 7-8:30pm

There are differences in the physical and cognitive development of young children that affect their ability to make traffic-related decisions.  Teaching children the skills and habits they need to avoid the most common types of crashes results in 70-80% reduction in crashes. This class teaches parents of children up to age 9 what they need to know to foster and judge development of their children’s bicycling safety skills.  The class is FREE and is open to parents from any Palo Alto school. Please do not bring children. For more information, contact SafeRoutes@cityofpaloalto.org . This class is offered by the City of Palo Alto and El Carmelo Elementary School PTA.
