Palo Verde eNews

Palo Verde has made the move towards creating a technology based information system that offers parents more options in how and when they receive their information from our school.  We are also making the move toward a greener Palo Verde.  Palo Verde PTA sends out PTA, PTAC, PAUSD and Community related information once a week via the enews.

Palo Verde PTA is using uptous.com to post events, school wide announcements and event sign ups. For instructions on how-to signup, look for email in your mailbox (please check in the Social/Spam folders) from Palo Verde PTA.

This system is replacing Konstella that was used in the past.

Guidelines for Long Running content in eNews

Repeated content is cited by readers as the number one reason they stop opening eNews.  In order to keep eNews fresh and relevant, your item will run only ONCE in the “New this Week” section unless it changes meaningfully.  For example, if you run a “save the date” message for an item one week, and a “need volunteers” the next week, we will run the item as new in each week.  All other requests to run the item for more than one week will result in your item moving into the “From last week” section.

Please help us help you and other parents by ensuring we have fresh, relevant content by thinking hard about running the same message for several weeks in a row.

Guidelines for Personal Information in eNews content

Phone numbers and addresses

Any personal information you submit to the Voice will be available on the Web.  You are free to do whatever you wish with your own details, but you must not provide personal details of others. Please refer people to the school directory for phone number and address information.

E-mail addresses

If you are concerned with online privacy please consider:

  • spelling out your e-mail details – for example: lidija at jolijama dot com
  • Creating a disposable e-mail address with gmail (Google) for school related correspondence
  • Gmail (Google) is preferred over others as:
    • You are not required to leave personal information when creating a Gmail account
    • You can forward to your real e-mail account
    • It is free
    •  It does not insert random and often inappropriate tags at the end of your e-mail
    • If it is compromised you can easily delete it and create another

Photographs

Photos of children will not be included in the Website to ensure we comply with PAUSD Web Page Guidelines
