Palo Verde PTA and School News

New This Week

PTA Position
Dear Palo Verde families. Due to the recent reshuffle on the PTA board, the Secretary position on the board has become vacant.  We run the risk of losing our active PTA status with the Sixth district PTA if we do not have a secretary for the ’16-’17 year. That means, if we are shut down, we cannot offer any PTA sponsored activities next year. The Secretary position is an important one, yet has the least amount of time committment on the board. The secretary is required to attend the board meetings once a month and record meeting minutes and vote on board matters. Other than that, there is no other time committment. Please contact Anjani Sarma at

president@pvpta.org  if you would like to join the board as secretary.

Palo Verde Notecard Fundraiser

Thank you so much for supporting Notecard Fundraiser!
Every year, I really enjoy the art that Palo Verde students made.
Hope you enjoy the finished products as well.
Special thanks to siblings who already graduated from Palo Verde and prospective students. You made this fundraiser not just a student’s event, but also a Palo Verde family event!
Notecard Fundraiser volunteer, Junghee Hsieh
Thank you to the Talent Show team
A very big THANK YOU to Denise White and Laam Wong for coordinating Palo Verde’s Talent Show on Monday, May 9th.  The talent show could not have been possible without the help of the parent volunteers-Chia-Chin Chong, Shannon Huang, Iva Reid, Anjani Sarma, Pallavi Jagasia, Katie Hsu, Carleen Ho, Alpa Shah, Jisha Menon and Courtney Gelberman.  Thank you to these parent volunteers and CONGRATULATIONS to all of the student performers for a wonderful and entertaining Talent Show!

How to Reduce Junk Mail
Did you know that the average adult receives 41 pounds of junk mail a year? That’s about 16 pieces a week, almost half of which are tossed in the recycling bin unopened. Help reduce this unnecessary waste with these websites:
 (by the Direct Marketing Association)
(A partnership between credit agencies to reduce credit card and insurance offers)
There are many other options out there, but these two are a good start!
