Spend an afternoon doing puzzles and games (and learn some math too…). The Palo Verde PTA is hosting a Julia Robinson Mathematics Festival. The JRMF is a non-profit organization that helps coordinate volunteer-run mathematics festivals. The festival will be held indoors at the Mitchell Park Community Center, El Palo Alto Room on February 18 from 5PM-8PM. Please register here
Bring your friends to explore math in a collaborative atmosphere. Choose a table with a puzzle or game, and see if you can solve it before moving to the next table. The activities can be enjoyed for kids as young as kindergarten and as old as adulthood, so ask your family to join you! All are welcome! Learn more about math festivals at jrmf.org.
Fees. Please note that PTA events cannot be held at the school so we are charging a $10 fee per student participant to cover the cost of the venue. Adults and other non-participants are free, but we would like to know how many in your group will attend to plan for the space. Register here.
Register. For updates from the Julia Robinson Mathematics Festival group, please also register your attendance for the event here.
Volunteer. All activities are hosted by volunteers. If a parent or high school student would like to volunteer to run an activity, please join the ‘Math Festival Committee‘.
Attend. All adults and students over 12 years must show proof of COVID vaccination, submit to a temperature screening, and weak masks while indoors. Light refreshments will be provided.
See you soon,
VP Programs – Palo Verde Elementary PTA.
