Back to School Night
On Tuesday, September 1 the teachers at Palo Verde would like to invite you to their classrooms. Teachers will explain their class requirements and expectations, give an overview of curriculum contents, grading criteria, homework assignment policy, general routines and communication procedures and other information which will help foster a successful environment for learning. It is also a great way to get to meet your child’s teacher(s).
Please note the specific times for the different grades:
6:00 – 7:00 PM for Grades K, 1 and 2
7:05 – 8:05 PM for Grades 3, 4 and 5
This event is for PARENTS ONLY. Complimentary childcare will be provided, thanks to our PTA. Unfortunately, we can ONLY accept SCHOOL-AGED children who already attend Palo Verde (liability prevents us from accepting infants). Please drop off and SIGN IN your child(ren) at Palo Verde Kids Club before going to their classroom.
Be kind to our neighbors: Back to School Night attracts many parents. If possible, plan to carpool or walk this evening, as parking will be difficult. Please be aware of our neighbors’ property and do not park in their driveways.
If you bike and park in front of the school or walk and enter the school through the staff parking lot area: Please take extra care to stay on the extreme right when entering the parking lot— or to the left, when exiting, as the signs indicate.

Chevy’s Restaurant Night:
Treat yourself, friends and family to a meal at Chevy’s on El Camino in Mt View on September 15 and Chevy’s will donate 25 percent of the proceeds to Palo Verde School. This restaurant “night” is actually good all day long – for lunch or dinner – eat-in or take-out. Simply take a school flyer (available in the office and coming home via Friday folders) into the restaurant and present it to the wait staff when you order.
We will see you all at Chevy’s (2116 W. El Camino Real, Mt. View) on September 15th!
The annual Palo Verde Harvest Fair will be Sunday, October 4 (the flyer that went home in the Back-to-School Packet had the wrong date) from 3:00 – 5:00 PM. We are looking for volunteers to help organize the Fair. We need everything from Volunteer Coordinators to Bake Sale Organizers to Booth Builders!
If you are interested in helping out, please get in touch with Katharine Saunders at saunders (at) earthlink dot net.
